However, Jem stopped her to say anything about it because Jem believed that if he would wanted us to know it, he had told them. If he was proud of it, he hadtold us. "Maybe it just slipped his mind." Furthermore, it demonstrate that Jem is growing up because he just does not want to having fun instead of he want to be a gentleman.
